LOSSES IN NEW ZEALAND & AUSTRALIA. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. CANBERRA, January 12. At the scientists’ congress today papers were read on a variety of subjects. One dealt with the heavy losses from plant and crop disease and was read by Dr W. Waterhouse, of the Sydney University, who declared that Australian losses amounted to £12,000,00 a year and those of New Zealand to £2,000.000.
