Yesterday's deaths in the country totalled 34, making 41 for two days. The victims include seven babies. A twelve months old baby, who was suffering from the effects of heat, was flown from Leeton, where the temperature was 117 degrees, to Sydney, at an altitude of 11,000 feet in an effort to save its life, and the baby's condition improved in the cooler atmosphere of the upper air. NEW HIGH RECORD. TEMPERATURE OF 117.7 DEGREES IN ADELAIDE. (Received This Day, 12.20 p.m.) ADELAIDE, This day. Intense heat continues and Adelaide’s temperature has reached 117.7 degrees, a new high record.
