In considering a possible expansion defence factors which have to be taken into account include the simplification of training and maintenance, the ease of the ammunition supply and standardization. These among other factors. together with considerations of the speed of production, have all to be weighed in determining the relative advantages between the 3.7-inth and tne 4.5-inch guns.

The War Office statement intimates that no further orders for the -k.iincn typo are at present being olticed.
