TARRAGONA MENACED

THE INSURGENT . ADVANCE IN CATALONIA FURTHER POSITIONS TAKEN. RIVER FRANCOLI CROSSED. Ey Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 11.45 a.m.) . LONDON, January 11. "The Times" Hendaye correspondent says General Franco's forces, starting from the village of Blancafort, broke the' second line of the Republican field fortifications defending the right 'bank of the River Francoli, which they later crossed, with the aim of isolating Mont Blanch from its bases by cutting the main road from Grandesa to Tarragona, and now are within three miles of Falsel. Thus Tarragona is menaced on two sides of the line returning to the great plain of Lerida. A now Nationalist town council has been appointed at Borjas Blancas and most of the refugees have returned.
