TWENTY-FIVE NEW ROOMS AT LOUVRE.

Twenty-five new rooms are being arranged tor exhibiting oil paintings at (he Louvre Museum, Paris, part of a complete rearrangement of the famous museum which has been in progress for a number of years. Under the direction of M. Henri Verne, director of museums in France and head cf the Eeole du Louvre, many change.", have been macle. More space has been given to the exhibits, and particular attention has been paid to their general setting, making of each room an artistic whole. Among the innovations introduced b.y M. Verne was the opening of the Louvre sculpture galleries three evenings a week, with, special flood lighting cf the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory of Sarnoihracc, the Discus Thrower, the Fighting j Gladiator, Michael Angelos' Slaves ' and many other Greek and Reman ■ masterpieces.
