WHEAT PRODUCTION
DISCUSSION IN LONDON. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, January 10. Representatives of the Governments ■of 22 wheat-producing countries, members of the International Wheat Advisory Comittee, met in London yesterday to consider the position arising out of the large world carryover resulting from the good harvests of the past year. z In the light of reports being considered at the present meeting, the committee will decide whether it is necessary to summon a new international wheat conference.
CARRYOVER PROBLEM NOMINATION OF CHAIRMAN (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 12.20 a.m.) RUGBY, January 11. The International Wheat Advisory Committee continued the examination of reports submitted on various aspects of the world wheat situation, and the problem of a large carryover, and entered upon a discussion of the prospects of such an agreement ih principle on measures for solving the problem as would justify convening a new interna-] tional wheat conference. It was announced that Britain had agreed, in compliance with the com-' mittee’s request, to nominate a chair-1 man to succeed the American Ambassador to London, who has intimated his inability to continue to hold that office, adding that his resignation signi-1 fled no diminution of the interest of I America in the Committee or its work.
