PLOT IN RUMANIA
ATTEMPT ON KING’S LIFE
REPORTED
PREMATURE EXPLOSION OF BOMB. MEMBERS OF IRON GUARD ACCUSED. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. LONDON. January 10. Reports reaching London leave no doubt that a serious plot against the life of King Carol of Rumania was frustrated within the past two or three days, says the diplomatic correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph.” It is believed that members of the Fascist Iron Guard, with confederates inside the palace, were responsible, and that the premature explosion of a bomb led to the discovery of the plot and the arrest of the ringleaders, against whom drastic action is believed to have been taken.
The danger is now removed but anxiety is felt till it is certain that all the revolutionaries have been apprehended.
