Sandy would not believe the fare was threepence, so at last the annoyed conductor took up Sandy’s suitcase and tossed it off the tram as they were crossing a bridge. “You ruffian!” roared Sandy. “Isn’t it enough to try and overcharge me without trying to drown my little boy?” Some men dodge the issue in domestic disputes. Others dodge the crockery.
