FATAL INJURIES
ACCIDENT AT GREYTOWN. MAN DIES IN HOSPITAL. Injuries, which later proved to be fatal, were received by Mr John Kempton. a single man. aged 50 years, when Ihe wheels of his milk cart passed over him at Greytown yesterday afternoon. The accident occurred about 4.15 p.m.
Mr Kempton was driving a fourwheeled carl and had called at a friend's house to deliver some plums. When climbing on to the cart he slipped and kicked the horse, which took fright. Mr Kempton was thrown under the wheels, which passed over his chest. He was admitted to the Greytowp Hospital where he died at 8.30 p.m.
An inquest will be held.
The late Mr Kempton' was the second son of the late Olliver Kempton and was born at Taratahi. He had been farming at Morison's Bush for the last 36 years. He is survived by his mother. Mrs O. Kempton, who lived with him. and a brother. Mr W. Kempton, Morison's Bush, and one sister. Mrs Veitch, of Auckland.
