LOST OR STOLEN

BAGS OF REGISTERED MAIL DISAPPEAR.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) NAPIER, January 8.

Four, possibly five, bags of registered mail matter disappeared from the Na-pier-Gisborne mail van during the journey to Gisborne last night. The bags disappeared somewhere between Wairoa and Gisborne, and it is not known whether they were lost or 'stolen.

The missing bags were destined for the Gisborne Post Office, and it is understood that they included registered matter from Wellington and Christchurch.
