A thousand strikers from the oilfield inland, after a 375-mile march lasting five weeks, are encamped on the outskirts of the city. They will present grievances to the Government. Troops and police are ready for an emergency. Rangoon is already upset by strikes among the students against Government restrictions. CITY DEMONSTRATION. (Received This Day, 9.45 a.m.) RANGOON, January 8. The strikers entered the city, waving flags and bringing to a standstill the transport services. The troops did not interfere.
