GREYTOWN

TROTTING CLUB MEETING.

("Times-Age” Special.)

At a meeting of stewards of the Wairarapa Trottong Club, it was decided to discuss in committee matters arising out of the abandonment of the Boxing Day meeting.

The following resolution was carried: —“That the action of the officials in abandoning the meeting be" endorsed.

It was decided that a special general meeting of members be held at Greytown on Tuesday, January 31, to consider the club’s position. It was resolved to release February 25, the date given the club for its next meeting, and to apply tentatively for April 22. It was resolved that all claims sent by owners and trainers be considered on their merits. It was decided that all deposits for privileges and nomination money be refunded, and that all accounts be held over in the meantime. The secretary stated there was £llO in the P.O. Savings Bank and £lOO on fixed deposit. Weekend Cricket. Mr Stan Brice, of Greytown, and formerly of Masterton, is arranging a cricket match, Greytown v a Masterton combined team, to be played at the weekend on the property of Mr F. C. Bunny. Personals. Mr H. E. Webster left for Napier today to attend the Summer School. Mrs H. G. Carter and Miss Mary Carter left today for Auckland on holiday. Constable Forsyth, of Wellington South, is on relieving duty at Greytown.
