SELECTION OF ISLAND DEPOTS.

The Minister of Civil Aviation, Mr Thorby, stated that he was dispatching two officers of the Civil Aviation Department to Norfolk Island on January 7 to select a site for a radio station which would provide communication with the air liners in the Tasman service and also select a site for emergency moorings. He said he was convinced that several months must elapse before the necessary radio and meteorological organisation could be completed.
