AIR TERRORISM
TACTICS OF THE INSURGENTS IN SPAIN
DELIBERATE ATTACK ON HUMAN LIFE. REPORT BY COMMISSION. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, January 5. That "all the evidence in its possession indicates a deliberate attack on human life with bombs designed for that purpose,” is among the statements contained in the report on the bombing of Barcelona on New Year's Eve prepared by the Commission for the Investigation of Air Bombardments in Spain. The investigation was made at the request of the Spanish Government.
The Commission records that as usual it had no opportunity of examining Nationalist intelligence reports on Barcelona, or orders issued to pilots or pilots' reports on the raid. The commissioners add in this connection that they would welcome such an opportunity “because all the evidence in the commission’s possession indicates a deliberate attack on human life with bombs designed for that purpose ana at a moment when the streets might be expected to be more than usuallj crowded in a part of the city where civilians since March, 1938, have deemed themselves to be immune.
