ST. JOHN AMBULANCE
NEW YEAR’S EVE DANCE. The dance held by the combined divisions of the St John Ambulance Brigade in the Municipal Hall on New Year’s Eve was an unqualified success. The floor was in perfect order and approximately 200 couples enjoyed the splendid music supplied by Jack Barnes and his Rhythm Boys. The duties of M.C. were capably carried out by Mr Pat Ward, who kept things going with a swing. A song rendered by Miss B. Warner, of Petone. was much appreciated by all. The Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss N. West and Mr F. Sigvertsen, while Miss B. Paine and Mr K. McGregor won the Lucky Spot one-step. The committee desire to express its sincere thanks to the Borough Council for placing the Municipal Hall, free of charge, at its disposal, and also to all those who assisted, particularly the ladies in the supper room.
