GLASGOW TRAMS

The general manager of the Transport Department of Glasgow Corporation, at a meeting of the Transport Sub-committee, submitted proposals for building new tramcars and reconstruction of existing vehicles at estimated expenditure of over £1,000,000.

The committee decided meantime that 25 new tramcars be built similar to the new Coronation type at a cost of £3,500 each, and asked that the manager prepare a report explaining reasons for recommending truck cars instead of improved bogey cars.
