Mrs J. Blair, of Seatoun, and formerly of Masterton, is on a visit to Carterton.
Mr and Mrs F. M. Reynolds, Lansdowne, have returned from a visit to Kaikoura.
Mr and Mrs S. L. Kent; accompanied by Miss D. Kent, of Pongaroa, spent the weekend at Martinborough.
Miss Diana Bolton, “Oete,” Kohinui, and formerly of Masterton, has left for a holiday at Paraparaumu Beach. Miss Brenda - Wylie,- of Nikau, is visiting, Napier and is the guest of Mrs H. H. Wylie. Miss Noeline Bolton, formerly, of Masterton, has left Pahiatua to spend a holiday at Waitotara.
Miss Betty Johnston, who has been visiting friends in Foxton and-Hunter-ville, has returned to Pongaroa.
Mr and Mrs Russell Boys, Pownall Street; Masterton, are visiting Mr and Mrs A. F. Boys, of Timaru.
Mrs- R. S. Phillips-Turner,- of Hamilton, is visiting her-mother, Mrs R. C.' Drummond; Lansdowne.
Mr and Mrs W. E. Caldow, of Wellington, are the guests of Mr and -Mrs E. Bassett, Essex Street, Masterton.
Miss Kathleen Cameron, of Glendhu, Martinborough, is returning- to New Zealand by the Rimutaka on January 12 after a visit to England extending over two years.
Visiting Mrs H. M. Dick,- Ngaturi, for' the recent coming.-of-age of- her daughters were M-rs Piper (Taumarunui), Mr J. Aplin (Martinborough) and Miss M, Dick (Wellington). Miss Frances I. Clulow, of the nursing staff of the Palmerston North Public Hospital, who is on sick leave; has gone to Napier to recuperate. Miss Clulow is a daughter of Mr and Mrs A. S. Clulow, of Kaitdwa.
Mrs Ralph Armstrong; Park Road; Carterton, and her daughter; Miss D. Armstrong, left Carterton today to motor to Hamilton, where they will spend several weeks with Mrs Armstrong’s daughter, Mrs W. Osborne; “Horsham Downs.”
Mr and Mrs Volkner, of Auckland, Mr and Mrs Cf anefield, George Cranefield, MisS Nankivell,’ Mr D. NankiVell, Mr H. Nankivell and Bruce Nankivell, of Petone;- hhve been spending, the holidays with Mr and Mrs A. Nankivell, of Kohinui.
A very enjoyable party was held at “The 'Grange,” Ngaturi, to celebrate the coming-of-age- of May and Daisy Dick, twin daughters of Mrs H. M. Dick. There were over a hundred guests present, "including visitors from Sydney, Whangarei, Wellington, Taumarunui, Martinborough and surrounding districts. Dancing and games were indulged in during the evening, a Monte Carlo waltz being, won by Miss L. Cotter and Mr I. Aplin. Music for dancing was supplied by Mrs E. Olsen, Mrs A. H. Eglinton, Mrs M. Howat, Mrs J. Stewart and Miss M. Dick.
A social and presentation took place 1 in the Pahiatua Druids’ lodgeroom, when opportunity was taken to say good-bye to Sister Moriarty prior to her departure for England on January 12. After supper, the District ■ President (Bro F. Ridder) called on Miss Moriarty to accept a toilet set, and spoke of her sterling qualities and valuable assistance during the time she was a member of the lodge. In handing over the gift to the recipient, he expressed the hope that she would have a pleasant voyage. The secretary (Bro J. E. MacDonald), P.D.P. Bro F. Cosford, P. A. Bro T. Moriarty, N.G. Sister E. McQueen, Sister J. Kirk, and Bro D ,M. Sargent also spoke. Musical honours were accorded Miss'Moriarty who feelingly responded.

SEDDON—JONES.' The engagement is announced of Richard Seddon, youngest son of Mr and Mrs B. J. Seddon, of Lower Hutt, and formerly of Masterton, to Ella Moira, only daughter of Mr C. H. Jones, Christchurch.
