LEAGUE COUNCIL

NOW OF LITTLE INTEREST TO BRITAIN FOREIGN MINISTER’S PLANS. VERY BRIEF STAY IN GENEVA. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDON, January 3. The Australian Associated Press says that the present intentions of Lord Halifax are to spend only one day at the meeting of the League of Nations Council which opens on January 16.

He will travel direct from Rome to Geneva arriving on Saturday night and leaving on Monday night, and will most probably then go to Paris for the more important business of conveying to France the outcome of the Rome talks and to discuss any developments. Lord Halifax’s short stay in Geneva can be interpreted as an indication that Britain has little further interest in the League of Nations.
