WETTEST YEAR FOR SOME TIME. Mr H. M. Buddington reports that rain was measured on 17 days in December, the maximum fall being 15G points on the sth, the minimum 2 points on the 22nd and 25th, the total for the month being 4.95 inches at against 1.69 inches in 1937, 3.12 inches in 1936, 1.82 inches in 1935, 8 points in 1934, and 1.44 inches in 1933; average for 35 years, 3.06 inches. Total rainfall for 12 months 47.33 inches, as compared with 32.60 inches in 1937, 44.09 inches in 1936, 46.04 inches in 1935, 34.52 inches in 1934, 31.57 inches in 1933; average for 35 years, 39.74 inches: The past 12 months rainfall has been exceeded as follows: —48.98 inches in 1904. 49.91 inches in 1905, 54.19 inches in 1907. 48.60 inches in 1912, 47.45 inches in 1928.
