Under ideal conditions the Hawke's Day Jockey Club opened its summer meeting today, the crowd being the largest since the memorable Gloaming v Hawk contest in 1927.
Betting was unaffected by three outsiders winning and the totalisator handled £16,125 10s. an increase of £4406. Results: —
