The total for the meeting was £189,844 10s, compared with £125,660 last year, an increase of £64,184 10s. In the mile challenge match race between Lawn Derby and Van Derby at the Auckland Trotting Club’s meeting, Van Derby (F. J. Smith*) got a break of two lengths over Lawn .Derby (W. J. O'Shea) in a,flying start and led throughout: Both were timed separately and ran the distance in 2.1 1-5, a New Zealand grass track record.
