THEATRE ROBBED

HASTINGS BURGLARY.

(By Telegranh—Press Association.) HASTINGS. December 30.

Some time late last night or early this morning approximately £6O was stolen from the safe in the Regent Theatre, Hastings. The thieves gained entrance to the building by forcing the door of the scenery studio at the rear of the theatre. The door of the office, which is situated in the foyer of the theatre, was then forced with a lever of some kind and, judging by the large number of marks on the door, it gave the thieves a good deal of trouble. The door of the projection room was also forced and the sound control apparatus interfered with, but as far as could be ascertained no damage was done to the projection machinery.
