WEDDING

GRAY—CORBETT. The wedding took place at St. Patrick’s Church, Masterton, on December 26, of Joan, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs P. Corbett, of Bentley Street, Masterton, to Geffory Roy, son of Mr and Mrs G. Gray, of Marton. The Rev. Father Dillon performed the ceremony. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a charming gown of white satin and wore a tulle veil held in place with a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet. There were two bridesmaids in attendance, Miss Kathleen Maike, of Marton (chief), and Miss Kathleen Glentworth. They were dressed alike in blue georgette and wore blue tulle veils on their heads. Their bouquets were made of carnations and daisies. The three little flower girls, Margaret Andrews, Pat Saunders, and Audry Clarke, wore white net frocks with blue sashes, and carried baskets of sweet peas. The page boy was Mervyn Saunders.

The best man was Mr Joe Gray and the groomsman Mr Dick Gray, brothers of the bridegroom. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the Cosy Tea Rooms where they were received by the bride’s mother assisted by the bridegroom’s mother. Mr and Mrs Gray later left by car for the South, the bride wearing a clover ensemble with accessories to match. Their future home will be in Marton.
