Rescntmc nt lias been aroused by the news of the death of M. Daiji Takanasni. a shipping manager at Vladivostok. while he was imprisoned somehere in Russia. The Japanese Arn.ba'isadnrial Secretary in Moscow demanded the immediate release of M. Takahashi and five compatriots and was informed that he had died of illness in gaol and that the others would be tried on espionage charges.
