Gafencu, in a radio address. He admitted that King Carol was actually directing foreign policy and said the country would fulfil its peaceful obligations to. its neighbours on the basis of absolute independence and territorial unassailability. He pointed out the. King Carol’s visit to London and other cities was evidence of a desire to make the closest contact with the Western Powers. He also declared loyalty to the Polish alliance and said continued friendship was desired with Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Russia.
