FORMBY’S FAME
“IT’S IN THE AIR.”
George Formby has received over 5000 letters from Australia and New Zealand motion picture fans. And when 5000 people will take the trouble to pen a tribute to someone 12,000 miles away, it’s something that speaks volumes for that person’s popularity. The famous coAiedian revealed the fact during the production of “It’s In The Air,” his latest comedy, which comes to the Regent Theatre on Saturday next. In the picture Formby is a young hopeful, who unconsciously becomes air-minded, joins the R.A.F., and before he knows where he is, finds himself miles high in the sky at the controls of a nose-diving, tail-spinning, looping-the-loop bomber. He does everything but crash. In addition to Folly Ward the supporting cast includes Frank Leighton, Garry Marsh, Jack Hobbs and Julien Mitchell.
