WEDDING

VOSS—SCHOFIELD. The marriage took place yesterday afternoon at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Tinui, of Ruby Maud Schofield, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs E. H. Schofield, of Tinui, and Colin Wilfred Henry Voss, elder son of Mr and Mrs W. H. Voss, of Tinui. The ceremony was performed by the Rev C. L. Dobbs, Vicar of Tinui, and Miss E. Langdon presided at the organ. Mrs Rewi Speedy was responsible for the church decorations.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of cream satin cut on classical lines, with a halo of orange blossoms. Her veil, which was of tulle embroidered lace, was lent by the bridegroom’s mother. The bride carried a sheaf of regal lilies and gypsophilas. The bridesmaid, Miss Alice Schofield (eldest sister of the bride) wore a frock of blue appliqued chiffon, with a headdress of accordion-pleated organdie and a bouquet to tone. Joan and Phyllis Cameron and Anne Owen acted as flower girls, wearing dresses of salmon pink organdie and carrying posies to tone. The best man was Mr Noel Reynolds. The reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents, “Peach Grove,” where the guests were received by Mrs Schofield, who wore a dress of black French crepe with a shoulder spray of white nightshade, assisted by Mrs Voss, who was attired in a navy floral crepe de chine ensemble. A dance followed the reception.

The happy couple left later on a motor tour of the North Island, the bride travelling in a green tailored costume with white accessories. Mr and Mrs Voss will reside at Tinui.
