AFTER THE SNOW
MAIN ROADS CLEARED IN BRITAIN MANY ISOLATED VILLAGES RELIEVED. ABANDONED CARS DUG OUT. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 9.33 a.m.) RUGBY, December 28. In certain parts of eastern and southeastern England road traffic is still hampered by snow and ice, but all the main roads are practically clear. The thaw brought relief to many isolated villages, but in parts of Lincolnshire snow drifts are still being cleared on roads which have been blocked since before Christmas. Several abandoned cars have been dug out.
