Five clays hence all Jews will be excluded from retail trade, but it is likely that only 700 of the 3700 Jewish retail businesses in Berlin will be taken over by Aryans. Others will close.
Working hours may be extended to ten or more a day under a decree effective on January 1, though an eighthour day is to be regarded as normal.
Time lost by national holidays and Nazi parades may be made up and hours may be extended to permit of cleaning the shops and machinery, serving late-comers, or in the event of man-completion of work involving the employer in disproportionate loss.
