PROTEST BY FRANCO

REPAIRS TO REPUBLICAN DESTROYER AID ALLEGEDLY GIVEN BY FRANCE. ■ MEN & MUNITIONS SUPPLIED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 12.50 p.m.) LONDON, December 22. General Franco has sent a Note toBritain alleging that France has supplied the Republican destroyer Jose Luis Diez, which is being repaired at Gibraltar, with torpedoes, anti-aircraft shells and other ammunition. It is declared that a French repair ship transported the supplies, that French sailors have supplemented the destroyer’s crew and also that French warships apparently intend to cover the destroyer’s departure, all of which is in flagrant violation of the Non-Intervention Agreement, threatening serious complications.
