TUNG OIL SURVEY
THE MINISTER’S INSPECTION. FULL INFORMATICS SOUGHT BY COMPANY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. December 22. A statement that the New Zealand Tung Oil Corporation had no knowledge of an inspection about seven months ago which the Minister of Agriculture, Mr Lee Martin, said he had made was made by the managing director of the corporation, Mr J. E. Ray, today. The following telegram was sent to the Minister by Mr Ray:— ‘,'Your statement published in this morning’s newspaper states an inspection was made by you seven months ago and that authority was given to the Department of Agriculture for a proper survey. In fairness to the company and its shareholders we demand full information as to the day and date of your personal visit as well as those of the departmental officers. The company has no knowledge of either. We still await a reply to oui’ telegram to you sent yesterday. Failing immediate receipt of the information requested we must, in fairness to our shareholders, publish the full facts throughout New Zealand.”
