GORGE ROAD BLOCKED
LARGE SLIP REPORTED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON N„ December 21. It is reported by the Automobile Association (Manawatu) that a fairly large slip came down on the Manawatu Gorge Road this afternoon. AU traffic is advised to' deviate over the Pahiatua track till tomorrow at least. PARTIAL CLEARANCE. MECHANICAL SHOVEL WORKS ALL NIGHT. PALMERSTON NORTH, This Day. Following on a heavy slip in the Manawatu Gorge, a mechanical shovel, working all night, cleared a sufficient to permit of one-way traffic.
