FUNERAL AT CLAREVILLE
THE LATE MR N. R. ARMSTRONG. (“Times-Age” Special.) There was a very large and representative attendance at the funeral of the late Mr Neville Armstrong, which took place this afternoon at the Clareville cemetery. Services at the house and at the graveside were conducted by the Rev W. Stent, Vicar of St Mark’s. The pall-bearers from the house to the hearse were: Messrs J. A. B. Lawrence (a close neighbour), W. J. Thomas (St Mark's Church), W. C. Deller (an old friend), Gordon Hughan (Building Society), H. Trapp (an old settler), L. J. Fairbrother (Building Society). At the cemetery the bearers were: Bros Rupert Reid and Albert Desmond (Totara Lodge of Druids), Messrs A. W. Hayden, C. K. Goodin (Carterton), J. C. Garrity (Dyerville), E. Rayner (Woodlands). The Druids’ ritual was conducted by Bro Austin Reid. The profusion of beautiful floral tributes received bore witness of the respect and esteem in which the late Mr Armstrong was held and of the deep sympathy extended to his relatives in their bereavement.
