The Berlin correspondent of the “News Chronicle” reports that HenHitler has decided on strong, decisive action as a peace-maker between Italy and France before Mr Chamberlain goes to Rome. For this purpose the German Foreign Office is inquiring as to the minimum demands Italy will make and the maximum concessions France will give. . Germany will not support territorial changes in Tunis, but will back up the demand for equality for Italian residents. She favours the sale of the Addis Ababa-Jibuti railway to Italy at. a fair price and supports Italy’s Suez Canal demands, but does not support Italy’s claim to Corsica. Nice and Savoy. Herr Hitler, by his,» intervention, hopes to steal Mr Chamberlain’s thunder and prove himself again the dominating figure in Europe.
