Even the gayest city in the world has its dark spots, the rendezvous of criminals. Many of these crooks hold their lives in their hands. One such crook, a member of the Paris underworld, was the “Rat,” notorious and elusive, who fascinated women and who had a code of honour although he lived by thievery.
