DOMINIONS LOYAL
SIR M. HANKEY’S TESTIMONY] ASSURANCE OF SUPPORT FOR BRITAIN. IN EVENT OF MAJOR WAR. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.10 a.m.) RUGBY. December 20. Sir Maurice Hankey, broadcasting, referred to the loyal sentiments entertained in the Dominions towards Britain. He said: “If I were chief of the general staff of a country likely to become involved in a war. with the United Kingdom, I would warn my Gov-ernment—-beware of underrating the Dominions. I visited all the four overseas Dominions and know something of their problems and difficulties and as a result of all this I find it difficult to ccnceive circumstances in which 'his country is likely to become involved in 'a major war on an issue in which r.bpular sentiment in the Dominions is not overwhelmingly sympathetic to our cause."
