EXPRESSION OF CONFIDENCE IN PRIME MINISTER CONCERN OVER THE HEPBURN BREAKAWAY. DIFFERENCES TO BE PROBED. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day, 12.30 p.m.) OTTAWA, December 19. Eighty Ontario Liberals, including members of Parliament, Senators and defeated candidates, unanimously adopted a vote of unbounded confidence in the Prime Minister (Mr W. L. Mackenzie King), at a caucus considering the break with the Primier of Ontario (Mr Mitchell). Two Senators and half a dozen Liberal members of Parliament were absent. A secret caucus decided to continue to probe the differences between Mr King and Mr Hepburn, mainly through the Premier’s allegation of masterly inactivity by the Prime Minister regarding the refunding of the national debt, a solution of unemployment, the acquisition of new markets and alleged ■favouritism towards prairie farmers at the expense of Ontario. The situation is causing the Government concern. If the Ontario electorate follows Mr Hepburn at the next election, the Government is likely to suffer severely.
