Miss A. Ml Brown reports as follows for the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. today:—Barograph, 29.48; shade temperature, maximum, 68.6; minimum, 47.3; terrestial, 40.2; sunshine, 7 hours 6 minutes; rain 37pts.
General situation: A rather deep depression is crossing the central portion of the Dominion while another is approaching the southern extremity. Pressure has risen sharply over Eastern Australia. Forecast: Strong westerly winds to gales at first in northern areas, elsewhere variable, southerlies becoming general and strong in force; weather overcast with intermittent rain, heavy in places and some thunder possible; temperatures becoming colder.
