Mrs J. W. Sturton, of Pahiatua, is visiting Auckland. Mrs Roy Anker, of Greytown, is a visitor to Christchurch. Mrs J. A. Sutherland, of Pirinoa, has returned home from a visit to Lower Hutt. Mrs J. Read, of Gisborne, is the guest of- her sister, Mrs A. W. McKenzie, Renall Street, Masterton. Mr and Mrs Duffy, who have been living at Pirinoa during the past year, have taken up their residence in Masterton. Mrs G. Vanston, of Lower Hutt, is spending a Holiday with her parents, Mr and Mrs A. S. McPhail, Dixon Street. Miss M. McKenna, of Newman, and formerly of Masterton, is the guest of E. J. Eastwood, Victoria Street, Masterton. Mrs G. Farrow is an Eketahuna visitor to Wellington. She will attend the wedding of Miss Emily Lowis, formerly of Newman. Miss Phyllis Boyle, Christchurch, who has been staying in Christchurch with Lady Wigram, will leave for the. north tonight to spend Christmas with her sister, Mrs Algar Williams, Featherston. The death has occurred at Hastings after a long illness, of Miss Kiore King. Miss King gained considerable distinction in dramatic circles in New Zealand, having toured England, Australia, and New Zealand with Maurice Moscovitch, Alan Wilkie, and other companies. More recently she was producer for the Christchurch Repertory ' Company and had adjudicated at various drama festivals. ENGAGEMENT. The engagement is announced of Hugh, second son of Mr and Mrs L. Gaskin, Cambridge Terrace, Masterton, to Linda, only daughter of Mr and Mrs M. McAliece, Pownall Street, Masterton.
