PERSONAL ITEMS. (“Times-Age” Special.) In the Trinity College musical examinations Wilma Herrick passed the Intermediate with special merit and Sybil Clarke gained honours in the junior grade. Both are pupils of Mrs John Mann. Among New Zealand ratings on board the Achilles, now on her way to refit at Portsmouth, is James Kane, son of Mr and Mrs J. H. Kane, “The Knoll,” Martinborough. He is an expupil of the Martinborough District High School and was accepted for the Navy some twenty months ago. He joined the training ship Philomel in Auckland and soon became leading boy. In examinations at Dunedin recently he was signally successful and gained four firsts and two seconds in six subjects, and was awarded the Commodore’s prize.
