BAN REMOVED

DOMINIONS & COLONIAL OFFICES.

WOMEN TO BE ADMITTED TO STAFFS.

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. LONDOIi, December 15.

The ban on women joining the administrative stall's of the Dominions and Colonial Offices is being lifted experimentally, announced the Minister in charge, Mr MacDonald. A few posts will be available each year subject to the examination of the Civil Service Association.

It is explained that the posts were hitherto limited to men because of the possibility of their going to isolated spots unsuitable for women. This argument no longer applies now that women doctors, nurses and others go abroad to lonely places.
