Pheasant Hits Car.
A motorist had an unusual experience at Huntly when a hen pheasant, which had been standing with a brood of chicks by the roadside, suddenly flew into the radiator of the car and fell to the ground. The bird was picked up and examined. Although dazed by the impact, no bones seemed to be broken. The birds recoved a little and was placed under fern by the roadside, and when the motorist withdrew, the chicks warily made their way toward her. School Concert.
The pupils oi the Masterton Central School repeated their concert in the Assembly Hall last night before a large and enthusiastic audience. The excellent standard set on the opening night was well maintained and the entertainment was a most enjoyable one in every way. Mr J. E. MeV. Calwell, chairman of the Central School Committee. complimented the children on their fine performance, congratulated the staff on its work and thanked those present for their attendance.
Parking Notices. Now that notices have been erected in Masterton streets specifying the parking time in Queen Street and portions of Perry and Bannister streets, motorists would be well advised to observe the regulations, as in view of complaints having been received of cars being left unattended for long periods outside business premises it is intended to prosecute offenders in future. The new notices are quite attractive and have been erected on the kerbside so that they are plainly visible.
