WOOL MARKET
AUCKLAND CATALOGUE CLOSED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, December 15. Though the second Auckland wool sale will not be held till January 24, the catalogue of 24,000 bales closed today. With the exception of last year, when there was an unusual rush of wool to the city, the stores’ closing date is the earliest for a number of years. Wool is still coming into the city steadily fom all parts of the province, but present supplies will be held till the third Auckland auction on March 27, when the offering has again been fixed at 24,000 bales. SYDNEY SALES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. SYDNEY, December 15. At the wool sales today 11,354 bales were offered and 10,550 sold, also 1020 privately. Keen competition marked the closing auctions today with the increased activity from Yorkshire and Japan. The market closed very firm. Greasy merino made to 21|d. The sales will be resumed on January 3.
