Misses Elsie and Edith Kellow, of Wellington, were visitors to Masterton yesterday.
Mrs Alistair Williams, of Te Parae, has her two sisters, the Misses Teschemaker, of Blenheim, staying with her. Mrs Violet Paris, of Wellington, was a visitor to Masterton yesterday for the Methodist Children’s Home Christmas party. Mrs S. A. Rombach, of Mangatainoka, has returned home after a visit to Rongotea and other parts of the North Island.
Delightful cocktail parties were held during the vzeek by Mrs J. C. Holmes, Matahiwi and Mrs T. C. H. Miller, Renall Street, Masterton. Mrs McNamara, Miss L. McNamara and Miss I. Curtain, of Masterton, left foi’ Auckland yesterday where they will spend a short holiday. Miss Mary Paterson, who has been studying home science at the University of Otago, has returned home to Pahiatua for the Christmas vacation.
Miss Violet Edge, who is to be married shortly, will be entertained at a gift evening in the Newman Hall on Monday night. Mrs C. Lyford, Featherston, who has been visiting Rotorua, is now staying in Levin as the guest of her daughter, Mrs D. Stuart, Heatherlea. Misses Anna Isobel Margaret Logan and Maureen Agnes Carroll, of Masterton, have obtained a Partial Pass in the Training College entrance examination.
Miss C. Drummond, daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Drummond, of Masterton, is scheduled to speak from 4YA this evening on Dunwich-under-the-Waves. Miss Drummond’s radio sobriquet is Anna Ross. ”
Lady Cheetham, London, arrived at Auckland this week. She will be the guest of their Excellencies Viscount and Viscountess Galway, at Government House, Auckland,, and will remain in the Dominion for two months, after which she will complete a world tour via Sydney, Darwin and Java. ENGAGEMENT.
The engagement is announced of Mary, only daughter of Mr and Mrs Harold A. Evans, Palmerston North, and formerly o£ Masterton, and Owen, only son of Dr and Mrs Archer Hosking, Mastferton. ■
