NORWICH CITV HALL
NEW BUILDING OPENED. The new City Hall at Norwich, recently opened by the King, took nearly three years to build. Its dominant feature is the tower, which rises 185 ft. A small electric lift is installed for the benefit of visitors wishing to view the panorama of the city and the surrounding country from the summit. An. electrically-controlled clock with four clock faces, each 14ft in diameter, and a bell weighing nearly three tons for striking the hours, are also part of' the tower's equipment. Visitors will be particularly interested in the Museum of Civic Regalia, a room that has been so constructed that it. can be kept under constant observation by a police patrol! As part of the decoration of the staircase hall is an enlarged reproduction of the Common Seal of the City, and on the wall are recorded the names of all the mayors and lord mayors of Norwich) Since 1403. the year of the first charter.
