STATE THEATRE

“SWEET DEVIL.” Those two great attractions “Sweet Devil” and "Non-stop New York” will be finally shown tonight. “THREE BUND MICE.” In “Three Blind Mice,” 2Cth Cen-tury-Fox film at the State Theatre tomorrow night, Miss Loretta Voung is co-starred with Joel McCrea in a story which provides a plausible excuse for the utmost in chic and charm —a millionaire colony, gay Mexican fiestas and yachting parties. In the fiesta scenes she wears an adaptation of the costume worn by the fair senoritas of old Madrid. A pleated skirt of white chiffon, a yellow silk apron and a bodice printed in multicoloured flowers are topped off with an innovation in mantillas (head shawl of lace). Among the other thrillers in her wardrobe are included: A daytime frock with prim, tulips embroidered in pale green and yellow on the bodice panels. Triangular pockets create an interesting hip-line to accenuate + he flattering flare of the skirt. A swimming pool robe of raw silk printed in large multi-coloured plumes. Another daytime frock .of muted blue crepe combined with a sash ol smoky red •suede. Tiny buttons on the shoulders, high neckline, gathered bodice, elbow length sleeves and a full circular skirt are interesting features of this costume. “Three Blind Mice,” a g:.y, romancing story, is a perfect vehicle for Loretta Young’s, type of dramatic art. The story of a girl who determines to marry a millionaire is from the pen of Stephen Powys. ••The March of Time,” which is on the “Three Blind Mice” programme, contains an excellent series of subjects, which are 01 especial interest io women, including “Housewives Versus Racketeers,” “Friend of the People,” and “England's Bankrupt Peers ”
