“THEATRE STREET”
Many well-known stars of the stage and screen will be seen in forthcoming New York stage productions at the end of the year.
Irene Bordoni, who made her film debut with Jack Buchanan in “Paris,’ will have a leading role in the operetta, “Great Lady,” with Tullio Carminati.
Robert Morley, of England, who scored such a success in "Marie Antoinette,” will play the lead in Leslie and Sewell Stokes’s play about the life of Oscar Wilde. Tullulah Bankhead, who has not been on the screen since “Devil and the Deep,” will appear with her husband, John Emery, in “I Am Different.”
Lupe Velez, who is having one of her frequent separations from husband, Johnny (“Tarzan”) Weissmuller, is receiving lots of praise for her impersonations in Cole Porter’s show, “I Married a Republican.”
