CALF COMPETITIONS

CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS AWARD CHILDREN CONGRATULATED ON DISPLAY. STANDARDS WELL MAINTAINED. (“Times-Age” Special.) The results of the Wairarapa Agricultural Clubs’ calf competitions in addition to those reported on page 7 are as follow: — Champion of champions, condition, handling and type: Keith Parker 1. Maris Ness 2, Dick Williams 3. Special class for calves (whose owners belong to any herd testing association in the Wairarapa: Maris Ness 1, Dick Williams 2, Brenda Morgan 3. Mr L. A. Keats, on behalf of the Agri cultural Clubs' Committee, congratulated the children on the way

they had turned out their dalves. It was as good a display of calves r as had ever been seen on the Showgrounds. He thanked the judges, Messrs N. Blatchford (lambs) and H. W. Feast (calves) for the manner in which they had carried out their duties. Special thanks were due to Mr Feast for his donation of a cup, for the second prize winner in the champion of champions group. In presenting the prizes Mr G. H. Perry congratulated the children on the fine exhibition. The lambs and calves were a credit to’them and he did not think that the Plunket Society had anything on the children.
