SYDNEY SALES. STRONG COMPETITION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. SYDNEY, December 12. At today’s wool sales a new season’s record for greasy merino was made, 24Jd being paid for six bales from Walcha. Competition was strong from the Continent and Yorkshire, with wider support from Japan. There was an exceptional demand for speciality lines. The average price of wool last week was £l3 14s 5d a bale, or lid a lb.
