TRADE UNION ASSISTANCE SOUGHT IN BRITAIN. - (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, December 8. The General Council of the Trades Union Congress considered a letter fro mthe Minister of Labour, Mr Ernest Brown, inviting the council’s assistance in defining key occupations, from which persons over a certain age could not be spared, for the purposes of the national service register. The council decided to accept a suggestion of a discussion on the matter with Mr Brown and the Lord Privy Seal, Sir John Anderson, to clarify the position on several points.
